How to Remove Pimples in One Week?

Whether you choose to call it acne, zits, pimples or spots, know that you’re not alone. Over 80% of teenagers will experience an outbreak of pimples at some point, which means science and reason have worked overtime to devise ways to treat them as quickly as possible. Before discussing about the tips on how to remove pimples, we will see how the pimples are formed.

How pimples are formed?

1. When oil or dead skin cells clog up the opening of hair follicles we get pimples. The follicles generate natural oils that keep our skin moisturized and healthy. And when these follicles get blocked, oil produced remains totally closed off. This blockage causes irritation and infection. And finally you get a face full of pimples. And once it starts it is rather difficulty to stop them. To attain instant relief from such skin malaise you can follow the below stated rules to get the answer of how to remove pimples.

2. The link between food and acne is very controversial. While foods such as candy, sodas, nuts, fried foods and chocolate are blamed many times as the cause of acne, this is just a myth and there has never been any scientific proof to verify this.

3. While food may not initially cause acne, clinical studies do show that many people with acne do not process sugar in their body as well. It is also a fact that foods high in sugar, food allergies and dairy product sensitivities can cause some peoples acne to become worse.

4. If your parents suffered from acne, chances are that you could too. The hereditary tendency for acne is a valid factor.

5. Hormonal fluctuations associated with certain drugs such as anabolic steroids, androgens and oral contraceptives as well as the natural bodily functions of puberty, the menstrual cycle (typically 2-7 days before menstruation begins), pregnancy and menopause increase the chances of suffering from acne.

6. Cosmetics, hair care products, sunscreens, industrial irritants, airborne grease and other pollutants can contain ingredients that will either clog pores or aggravate current acne.

7. Rubbing or friction on the skin from items such backpacks, sweatbands, bike helmets can cause pore blockage and acne outbreak.

8. High levels of humidity, heat and sweating increase the chance of acne.

9. Squeezing and picking at inflamed pimples can damage skin tissue and spread the bacteria and inflammation. This also increases the chances of scars.

10. Stress is becoming an increasingly common factor linked to acne. Stress can interfere with the body’s normal hormonal balance.

11. Some Naturopathic doctors maintain that moderate to severe acne can be a result of toxic buildup in the colon. There is a study that shows people with severe acne have a higher than normal level of bowel toxins in their blood stream.

Most Effective Method for Treating Pimples Naturally

A combination approach including both internal and external therapies is the most successful method for fighting acne naturally. The main goal is to reduce the number of blemishes, minimize the emotional trauma acne can cause and avoid acne scarring that can last a lifetime.

Every person is an individual and as such, everyone’s acne and skin type is different. As with synthetic (conventional) acne treatments, the same holds true for natural (alternative) acne treatments and what may work for one individual may or may not work for the next.

A synergy blend of topical acne fighting and skin healing natural ingredients including botanical extracts and essential oils with proven anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties used in conjunction with internal diet, supplements and herbs provides the most successful natural acne treatment solution for the largest number of people.

Natural remedies for mild to moderate acne can be very effective and potent and are usually accompanied with less severe side effects than their synthetic acne treatment counterparts. Many pharmaceutical medicines are initially based on herbs and ingredients from nature. Mother Nature can help provide you with blemish free skin.

As with any reputable and scientifically based acne treatment – expect to use remedies for at least 6 to 8 weeks before seeing a noticeable improvement.

How to remove Pimples: Easy steps

1. Skin cleaning

  • Gently wash acne affected areas at least 2 times per day. This would normally be in the morning and again before bedtime. Some great anti-bacterial ingredients that should be included in cleansers include Tea Tree Oil, Grapefruit Seed Extract and Bee Propolis.
  • Tea Tree Oil is an essential oil extract and has tested as an effective acne treatment with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It has shown to be a valid alternative to Benzoyl Peroxide with fewer side effects.
  • Grapefruit Seed Extract is considered a ‘natural antibiotic’ or antibacterial. It has proven very effective in the treatment of Acne Vulgaris. Many natural acne treatments rely upon this ingredient.
  • Bee Propolis is a resin substance made by bees to keep the hive disease free. They use it to line the cells in the chamber where the queen lays her eggs as well placing it at the entrance of the hive so the bees must cross over it before entering the hive. A Russian Doctor discovered its success in fighting acne.
  • Anti-inflammatory ingredients should also be included in a cleansing formula. This could include skin soothing items such as Lavender, Witch Hazel, Blue Chamomile, Allantoin and Aloe Vera.
  • Do not use alcohol based cleansers. Alcohol dries the skin and will actually make your oil glands produce even more sebum which will only create a vicious cycle of skin drying and more oil production.
  • Do not scrub your skin too hard, excessive scrubbing does not help your acne and will ultimately make the condition worse. You could spread the acne bacteria with vigorous scrubbing.
  • Don’t go for fancy and colorful soaps.
  • Try to use soaps or face washes that contain neem oil along with other antiseptic components.
  • You can go for vapor treatment at least twice a week. Vapor helps open the skin pores to get the oil out of the blocked follicle.
  • If you live in a city with pollution, exfoliate more than usual. Usually I recommend to exfoliate 2-3 times per week.
  • I am in love with hemp seed oil as a cleanser and moisturizer. It feels great on the skin, has a comedogenic rating of 0 (so will NOT clog your pores), is green in color so great at hiding any redness in your skin, and is 57% linoleic acid. When our sebum is deficient in linoleic acid it become very hard and dry and easily gets stuck in the skin causing comedonal acne. By adding linoleic acid to our skin (and to our diet) then we are creating softer and smoother sebum that will more easily come out.

2. Facial toner, creams and lotions

  • Aloe Vera gel is useful for a pimple prone skin. Aloe Vera helps lessen scar marks and gives you a pimple free and fresh skin. There are many branded companies who manufacture good Aloe Vera gel. Choose one manufactured by a reputed company.
  • Several pure essential oils have proven very effective in the treatment of acne and can be very potent – sometimes they are up to 100x more concentrated than the therapeutic source they come from. Do not use undiluted essential oils directly on your skin. It is always recommended to seek the advice of a trained professional Aromatherapist concerning the proper use of essential oils.
  • Some good examples of essential oils for treating acne are Tea Tree, Blue Chamomile, Lavender, Cedarwood, Lemongrass, Patchouli and Myrrh.
  • Pure botanical extracts that have skin soothing abilities include Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera and Allantoin. You want to make sure that you are getting pure ingredients that work together to fight acne.
  • Some good skin healing herbal extracts include Echinacea, Oregon Grape Root, Calendula and St John’s Wort.
  • Some are concerned that a balm or ointment containing oils and butters will be too greasy for oily skin. There are actually a few oils that have tested beneficial for oily acne prone skin. These include unrefined Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sunflower Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E Oil.
  • Jojoba Oil is said to actually mimic the sebum produced by your skin and is thought to be able to trick your oil glands into producing less sebum.
  • When you have a pimple prone skin it’s always wise to consult a skin specialist before you choose and cosmetic or medicinal products. Go as per the prescription given to you and get a cream or lotion perfect for your skin type.

3. Home made Face packs and natural remedies

  • Ancient Egyptian history confirms the use of natural clay masks for exfoliating, unplugging pores and drawing impurities from the skin.
  • Natural clay is gently massaged onto the skin and as the clay dries, it tightens the skin and shrinks the pores while helping to pull out and remove impurities like blackheads and whiteheads.
  • Combining clay with powerful but gentle anti-bacterial acne fighting agents will aid in clearing the follicle, kill the bacteria and allow the skin to heal.
  • Prior to using clay masks, occasional facial steaming accompanied with gentle manual extraction of blackheads may be necessary for stubborn blemishes.
  • Home made face packs work wonder with its natural ingredients. Make a pack by mixing pure turmeric and milk. This pack is excellent for this purpose as turmeric has antiseptic agents that fight the bacteria which causes pimple.
  • Mix up dried and powdered orange peel with plain water and apply on your entire face. This is actually a great face pack for your pimple prone skin.
  • Make a paste by mixing honey and cinnamon. Apply the paste all over your face at night. Let it work properly through out the night and wash it off the next morning.
  • Neem has natural antiviral agents that are great to remove acne from your skin. Make a paste with neem leaves and apply it on your face once in a week to get a clear skin without pimples.
  • Lemon assures an excellent treatment for your pimple affected skin. Take a cotton pad and soak it with lemon water and then dab it on the affected areas.
  • Wash off the face packs within 15 to 20 minutes.

4. Natural treatment for acne scars

  • Massaging Rosehip seed oil and Tamanu Oil onto acne scars for a period of months helps to reduce acne scarring due to the Trans-Retinoic Acid (a form of Vitamin A) naturally occurring in the oils. The actual act of skin massage going across the fiber of the scar also helps to soften and reduce scar tissue.
  • Some of the essential oils that help with scar tissue are Helichrysum, Rosewood, Spike Lavender, Galbanum and Carrot Seed.
  • Scar treatment options such as dermabrasion or chemical peeling should be discussed with a dermatologist while plastic surgery such as scar excisions and punch grafting should be discussed with a dermatologic surgeon.

5. Healthy and stress free lifestyle

  • Drink a lot of water to keep your skin hydrated. This will prevent pimples occurrence. Water enhances the wound-healing-ability of your body by increasing the blood circulation. Drink at least 7- 8 glasses of water everyday.
  • Maintaining a healthy diet is must.
  • Avoid junk foods.
  • Stay away from poultry products.
  • Avoid foods rich in oil, butter, cheese, mayonnaise and spices.
  • Eat a lot of fruits and green vegetables. It helps to generate new cells.
  • Green vegetable salads are good for your skin.
  • Instead of oily foods you can take dry fruits for brunch.

6. Medication

  • When you think of how to remove pimples, the first thing you may think of is to take antibiotics and steroids. But this is a wrong decision indeed. Antibiotics destroy the bad bacteria obviously but at the same time it also kills the good bacteria that are essential for digestion.
  • Consult a doctor and seek advice. Take the medicines that your dermatologist has prescribed you with effective supplements.

7. A balanced diet is an important step for healthy acne free skin.

  • Avoid over processed foods high in sugar and carbohydrates. Recent studies have shown a direct link with high carbohydrate intake and acne.
  • Eat plenty of fresh and raw vegetables, fruits, high fiber, whole grains, and proteins in the form of lean meats, soy products, seafood and beans.
  • Avoid foods that appear to aggravate your acne.

8. Ensure your entire digestive system including your colon is at optimum performance.

  • You need to have a healthy bowel movement at least once a day. This means no constipation.
  • This does not mean you take laxatives – eat enough fiber and drink enough water to naturally eliminate the toxic waste build up in your body.
  • Make sure you have ‘friendly’ bacteria in your intestines. If you have ever taken antibiotics then chances are you may have killed the friendly bacteria required for your intestines to function properly. You can replenish the ‘good’ bacteria by taking acidophilus or eating yogurt with live cultures in it.

9. Dietary Supplements

: Note – all supplements are advised only at dosages recommended by the manufacturer. Warning: Taking dosages larger than recommended could be prove toxic.

  • Vitamin A: Many conventional topical acne treatments are high in Vitamin A. It only makes good sense that you would want your own body to produce enough Vitamin A. A good way to do this is to take a Beta Carotene supplement. Eating plenty of carrots or orange and yellow vegetables also helps. Beta Carotene is the precursor our body needs to convert it into Vitamin A. Moderation is important – High amounts of Vitamin A can be toxic.
  • Zinc: Studies have shown that many teens suffering from acne have a Zinc deficiency. When taken in conjunction with Beta Carotene, it is shown to help in the control of inflammation and skin repair.
  • GLA: Another deficiency linked to acne is essential fats. The fatty acid Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) is a “good” fat with many health benefits. Borage Seed Oil is the richest source of this fatty acid. Other substitutes include Linseed Oil or Evening Primrose Oil.
  • Vitamin B6: A deficiency of Vitamin B6 has been linked to women suffering from acne during their menstrual cycle. Other reports suggest taking a B complex supplement.
  • Chromium, Vitamin E and Selenium: Various reports suggest these supplements are also helpful to internally fight acne.

10. Herbs:

The following herbs are considered useful in the treatment of acne – Rosehips, Burdock Root, Fennel Seed, Pau d’ Arco, Chamomile, Dandelion Root, Red Clover Buds, Chaste Tree Berry, Red Clover Leaf, Wild Yam Root, Nettle Leaf, Licorice Root, Basil, Spearmint, Marshmallow Root, Dandelion Leaf, Linden Flower, Lemon Balm, Lavender Buds, Calendula Flower Petals, and Skullcap.
